This was gem included in the Wine Spectator TOP 100 of 2009. We are also particularly grateful as it is the only champagne in the Top 100.

Brut Premier is one of the most intricate of all Champagne wines to produce and the House of Louis Roederer is very proud of this wine. The current cuvée’s base is 2005 and there are reserve wines coming from 7 different vintages: 2004, 2003, 2002, 2001, 2000, 1999 and 1998 all kept in oak casks. For Brut Premier, the estate grapes – all grand cru and premier cru - represent around 55%. I like to think of them as a cross of a grower estate and a grand marques, as they own 65% of the vineyards for their wines.
